            GOT FLEAS?
Place a white baking dish half full of water with a couple drops of Lemon Joy dishwashing liquid in the center of the room with a small lamp next to it.  Turn off all other lights and go to bed.  When you wake up in the morning all the fleas will be in the baking dish! For a bad infestation treat each room twice.

DYAN MERKEL of vom Haus MERKEL

Dyan Merkel in September 2002 with
2 times World Sieger VA1 Rikkor von Bad Boll SchH3, Kkl 1a and
(U.S. & Canadian Sieger) VA1 Kevin vom Murrtal SchH3, Kkl1a

Dyan Merkel of vom Haus Merkel has over 38 years breeding, exhibiting and Importing experience.  Breeding American German Shepherds under the kennel name of Merkel's German Shepherds up until 1995 when she changed to the West German Imports hence the new kennel name of vom Haus Merkel.  Our objectives are to further advance the interests of the breed; to protect & promote the German Shepherd Dog through ethical and responsible breeding.

Dyan  has bred  the highest scoring Champion at the 98 and 99 German Shepherd National Specialty Show.  She also has produced over 35 AKC/CKC/UKC Champions, (most with obedience/working degrees as well), including the
1982 United States Grand Victrix Merkel's Vendetta OFA, ROM (who was also 2 times Select Champion, Futurity Victrix, Maturity Victrix, ROM). Her bloodlines still stand strong behind 2 recent U.S. Grand Victors; one of which has the distinction of becoming only the second dog in the history of German Shepherds in America to win this title twice.   Dyan added the Schutzhund discipline and bred the only full American   bloodline  female  in  the  history  of  U.S. German   Shepherds  to  become  an AKC Champion with a Schutzhund title
Ch Merkel's Opium CD, SchH1.   Other dual titled dogs include
Ch Merkel's Essence CDX, Ch Merkel's Sangria UDT,  Ch Merkel's Regatta UDT, Ch Merkel's Ricochet CD, Am-Can Ch Merkel's Cut-Up of Timmee UDT, TDX, NA, NAJ, HIC, TT, Can CD
just to name a few.

Dyan's breeding program has produced working dogs for the
blind as well as their breeding programs. working with such
groups as The Seeing-Eye, Inc., International Guiding Eyes and Leader Dogs for the Blind.

In 1976 she rescued 2 German Shepherds who were scheduled to die in the City Shelter in Iowa City, Iowa rehabilitated them then donated them to International Guiding Eyes in California.
These 2 girls were trained at the school in California and graduated tops in their class.

Dyan has also worked with many other groups including Search and Rescue, Therapy dogs and Handicap Assistant Dogs. Dyan has written articles on the breed and her dogs are pictured in many breed books today.  Rescue Dogs/Cats are her passion;  she donates time, art work and money to support many rescue groups in the Dallas area.

Having judged matches on a regular basis, she was nominated as a judge by the G.S.D.C. of America Inc., for the National Futurity show in 1999.   She believes there is no truer statement about the breed as stated by the man who created the German Shepherd Breed... "Remarkable in his unswerving loyalty to his master, irrepressible in his high spirits, never idle, always in motion, good-natured but not a flatterer, a constant pleasure to the eye..."Max von Stephanitz.
